The Legal Broadcast Network is the nations first broadcast and news service for trial lawyers. This joint venture between Mark Wahlstrom and famed Civil Action Attorney Jan Schlichtmann, was launched in 2004 and has under gone continuous updates and growth since then.

Effective January 2006 you can subscribe via RSS feed and receive the LBN blog content, audio podcasts of Civil Action Radio and other featured shows, as well as Video Podcasts of legal and settlement industry events such as ATLA meetings, Mass Torts Made Perfect, NSSTA conventions and SSP meetings.

526021.jpgMark Wahlstrom, as one of the oldest independent specialists in handling plaintiff issues related to structured settlements and settlement planning, has long felt that too many artificial barriers exist that impede the entry of young, talented professionals who want to learn the business of settlement planning.

With the surge of mass tort cases facing our industry, and the likely shift in ethical and legal issues that will require most trial lawyers to obtain an expert opinion on the investment, design and allocation of a clients settlement, it is highly likely there will be a substantial upsurge in the need for competent settlement planners.

While NOT a general agency, Wahlstrom & Associates is an independent consulting and insurance firm that is eager to partner with professionals looking to expand into settlement planning, as well as mentor young professionals interested in creating a settlement planning practice.

Some of the resources we make available are:

1. A comprehensive audio series of podcasts on building a settlement practice.

2. Affiliation and training through life markets, trust companies and government benefit experts.

3. Membership in the relevant industry educational organizations such as NSSTA, SSP and NAMSAP.

4. A complete in house online communication and training system, as well as access through our general agent, Selective Settlement International, to all of the major life companies who underwrite settlement annuities.

5. A fair and reasonable partnering arrangement based upon a formula and belief that the local advisor who does most of the work should get most of the money.

6. The ability to utilize the reach and scope of The Legal Broadcast Network and The Settlement Channel to find and prospect to trial lawyers in your geographic region.

If this interests or appeals to you, contact Mark Wahlstrom and discuss how to get started or if this industry is of interest to you.
